Duphirso is a traditional, handwoven wrap-around cloth worn by the women of the Karbi tribe in Northeast India. Worn similarly to a pekok, it is draped over the upper body and tied in a knot above the right shoulder and serves as a foundational element of everyday and ceremonial Karbi attire. Unlike other traditional wraps, the Duphirso is distinguished by its prominent cross-strip patterns and its use of accessible, durable materials like standard cotton or synthetic acrylic threads.
